Scott Lawrence Smith began his career in 1991 as a real estate asset
manager for the investment-banking firm of Rockwood Realty Associates, handling a portfolio that included $225 million of commercial, residential, co-operative and condominium properties. In 1993, Mr. Smith pursued an interest in construction management, founding Lawrence Construction Consulting to provide sales, project management and consulting services to several of New York’s largest construction firms.
In 1998, he founded Lawrence Exterior Restoration Corp. to provide
building envelope construction, restoration and consulting services to
some of the largest real estate firms, developers and owners across the country.
In an effort to meet the ever-expanding needs of his real estate clients, Mr. Smith founded Lawrence Environmental Group, LLC in 2005 to provide environmental consulting, monitoring and testing services to a broad spectrum of commercial and residential clients.
To offer additional services, Mr. Smith founded Green Planet Labs, LLC in 2009, providing expedited laboratory results at reduced costs.
This affiliate of Lawrence Environmental Group offers analytical testing services for Mold, Asbestos, and Bacteria in Water. The laboratory is certified by the New York State Department of Health Environmental Laboratory Approval Program (NYSDOH ELAP).
In 2013, Mr. Smith started in the world of Real Estate development,
building a 40 unit mixed use student housing project in Syracuse N.Y. and in 2017 broke ground on another mixed use property two blocks away. In 2014, Mr. Smith established Hunter Property Advisors, LLC, a specialty advisory group providing one-stop support for the purchase, sale, development, re-financing and management of real estate properties.
Practical, cost-effective value engineering is the cornerstone of HPA’s
process, which focuses on maximizing asset values while minimizing
liability. With years of practical expertise providing environmental,
building envelope, engineering, due diligence and construction services, HPA, with its partners, have assisted our clients in value engineering projects around the country.
Mr. Smith is active in leadership roles with multiple philanthropic
organizations: UJA Federation, FIDF and Birthright. He is on the board of the Mid-Island Y and active in Temple Sinai Roslyn. He has coached Lacrosse in his hometown for 9 years.
Mr. Smith holds a bachelor’s degree from the University at Buffalo. He
splits his time between Roslyn, N.Y. and Great Barrington, MA.
